MAKE
YOUR LIFE A JOY
Dear reader this may appear to be a new form of experience. Something
that you have never seen or heard before. Don’t be surprised-this
is not something that never existed before. In fact , once upon a time
this was the life breath - the very soul of our beloved motherland Bharata.
It is nothing extraordinary- just the exact replica of the age old Vedic
version of living a happy and joyful life. Many attempts have been made
in the world to define ‘Hindu Dharma’. Immense are the ideas
contributed by this school of thought. We can see that outwardly it
appears to be one full of rites and rituals with diametrically opposite
ideas. But many a time we forget that the tiniest family temples(‘kavukal)
and the magnificent Vedas have sprung from the one and the very same
fountain head idea. We also don’t take the trouble of knowing
the noble, beaming, and scientific principle underlying many of these
which are misinterpreted as a bundle of superstitious and contradictory
ideas.
All the other religions try to start teaching others only after a
thorough study of their religious texts. But as far as Hindu Dharma
is concerned ,people start learning, out of some passion or the other,
without learning the fundamental texts-theVedas. They do not try to
analyse the truth, they do not try to understand the guru parampara
(Teacher lineage). And these people start to interpret the Hindu Dharma
on the basis of their power to grasp it.
Due to lack of true learning each one starts interpreting on the
basis of his culture, riches, his knowledge. and other factors. This
creates a lot of confusion of ideas. Some say that the Gayatri Mantra
should not be chanted by women, while others say that women are permitted
to chant only half of the Gayatri. What is the truth? The fact is
that Gayatri is a mantra of the Vedas. There is a mantra in Yajurveda
which says that, just as every individual has the right to use light
and water,so too does one have te right to learn and use the Vedic
mantras. In other words, Gayatri Mantra can be chanted by women as
well. My attempt here is to bring out the hidden principle underlying
the Vedas, Ramayana, Mahabharata, Bhagvatham etc. This venture is
made with the humble aim of spreading Veda into each and every Hindu
home. There might be a lot of shortcomings in this, so I request your
great hearts to point out those mistakes. I do not believe in the
current non-dualism that is claimed to be that of Sri Sankaracharya.
But it is this noble son of Kerala who has given anew dimension, vitality,
spirit, life and vigour to the Hindu Dharma. Hence I surrender this
humble venture of mine at his holy feet.
To Sri Adi Sankarabhagavatpedar, who has pioneered to enlighten the
entire world with the light and spirit underlying the age old revered
culture of Hindu Dharma.
